Native of Lithuania, Ignas grew up in Canada as one of the faces of Canadian prep school basketball. Known for his sharp shooting and scoring ability, the lefty has played for the Canadian National Team and was one of the top players in the FIBA junior tournaments.
A five star prospect coming out of high school, Iggy went on to play for Michigan Wolverines where he led the team in scoring and became the Big Ten Freshman of the Year, while leading his team to a deep March Madness run.
Iggy’s play caught the attention of the NBA teams and he put his name into the NBA Draft after his only season of college basketball. He was drafted by the iconic New York Knicks that is building out a new future core filled with young talent.
Playing for the New York Knicks has been quite an experience for Iggy as he is called upon to provide scoring as one of the versatile shooters on the team.
